A tranquil hotel in the Himalayas has now topped the Robb Report's of "50 Greatest Luxury Hotels in the World". Hotel, Shinta Mani  Mustang, located at the base of Mustang Valley in Mustang Region, topped the list with its services, hospitality, and location inside the proper Himalayas at an altitude of 2700m. It has now become a historic moment for Himalayan Tourism that the Hotel Shinta Mani Mustang has officially taken the top spot in Robb Report's annual “50 Greatest Luxury Hotels on Earth”.

Global advisors who curate journeys for high-earning and high-net-worth travelers, the 29-suite sanctuary in Nepal's Lower Mustang outperformed with its hospitality and original services, topping the legendary hospitality titans across Rwanda, Scotland, Japan, and France to secure the top list on its name.

Described by Robb Report as "a masterful far-flung palace of fantasy", the Shanti Mani's victory not only signals a monumental shift; it also solidifies Nepal's place on the map not only as a high-altitude trekking region, but also as a premier global hub for ultra-luxury hospitality.

What Makes Shanti Mani Mustang Exceptional?

Shinta Mani Mustang is a masterclass in immersive design and cultural preservation, perched at a stunning elevation of 2800m in the dramatic Kali Gandaki Valley. Founded by Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa, husband of the late Pansag Lhamu Sherpa, the first woman to climb the Mount Everest and Namgyal Sherpa, their son, operated by the Sherpa Hospitality Group, it features the designed interiors and exteriors from world-renowned architect Bill Bensley. It gives Hotel Shanti Mani properly fusing into traditional Tibetan-influenced Himalayan architecture with maximalist and eco-conscious luxury.

Bespoke Architecture

The hotel is built using locally sourced stone and slate, which honors ancient Mustangi building styles. It frames the farming panoramic, floor-ceiling vies of snow-capped Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.

Holistic wellness and Amchi Medicine

Another feature which makes Shinta Mani outstanding in the list is its on-site 11th generation Amchi, offering personalized treatments, herbal baths and holistic sound healing which are rooted in centuries-old Himalayan traditions rather than providing the same standard spa menus which can be found everywhere.

Curated Outdoor Excursions

Guests are offered with tailored adventures, including horseback riding across high-altitude plateaus, archery, guided hikes with assigned private guides and drivers. The tour also offers a hike to hidden Buddhist monasteries and visits to the 800-year-old Bon village of Lubra.

All-inclusive Mountain Luxury

The Hotel Shinta Mani operates on a comprehensive, minimum-five-night stay model which includes private airport transfers from Jomsom, tailored dining ambiance, guided excursions as well as unlimited spa therapies along with permits for the surrounding restricted zones.

The Border Impact on Nepalese Tourism

The undisputed No. 1 spot globally for Shinta Mani on best Luxury Adventure Hotels highlights a broader resurgence in Nepal's travel landscapes. It is also the mark of luxury in Nepal, with a very unique taste with the Himalayan blend.

"Our vision has always been to reaffirm Nepal's place among the world's leading luxury destinations, not by changing who we are, but by celebrating what makes Nepal truly exceptional," stated Namgyal Sherpa, CEO of Sherpa Hospitality Group.
